Work History
A Brief History
I have lived A LOT of places. I was born in North Carolina. We moved to Canada when I was two, and I moved back to North Carolina to attend University. After graduating, we moved to Washington DC. Next we moved to Nashville, TN, and we finally landed in Tallahassee in November 2017.

I love to travel and have had the opportunity to visit several Canadian and US cities, Kuwait, and several cities in Europe.
My husband and I plan to visit all of America's National Parks. We have visited The Badlands in South Dakota, Many Glacier in Montana, and Yellowstone in Montana and Wyoming.
I love cooking and trying new recipes. I enjoy trying new cultural recipes, and trying new takes on classics. Currently, I am teaching myself quilting, crafting, and calligraphy.

Above all, my favorite hobby is reading! In middle and high school, I did not enjoy reading, but developed a love for it in college. Each year I issue book challenges; this year, I am planning to read two books per month. Each year it is my goal to produce students who enjoy reading.
I student taught in an 8th Grade US History Class, and enjoy incorporating historical documents into my language arts lesson.
While living in DC, I worked as a lead teacher in an after care program. Along with my co-teacher, we implemented lesson plans and extra-curricular activities for fourth graders in the heart of Washington DC.
After moving to Nashville, TN, I began working as a Language Arts teacher. In my first year I taught 6th grade, and then 8th grade. For the last 3 years I have taught 7th grade writing.
I have taught 7th and 8th grade Bridge at The Creek.
